Marian Dugan, 89, beloved wife of deceased Methodist minister, Ernest Dugan of Lake Junaluska, NC, died Sunday, Sept 6, 2009, at Mission Medical Center in Asheville, NC. Marian was a native of Wesley, PA. She was the daughter of the late Norman and Bessie Eakin . She was active in the ministry of Long’s Chapel United Methodist Church and was a retired school teacher of handicapped children in Charleston SC and Chattanooga, Tenn. Surviving are her three sons, Daniel Dugan, of Summerville, SC John Dugan of Chattanooga, TN., and Samuel Dugan of Kathleen GA ; one daughter, Mary Ann Buckley of North Stonington, CN ; one brother Merritt Eakin of Saratoga, CA; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM. Wednesday at the Garrett funeral home. Services will be held at 10 AM Thursday at Long’s Chapel United Methodist Church. The Rev. Alan Mears and Rev. Woody Adams will officiate. Burial will be at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Memorials are requested to be made to Asbury Seminary, Wilmore KY. If you wish to send flowers they are welcomed. The Dugan family also mentioned that Marian Dugan and her late husband, Ernest, established a scholarship fund for aspiring ministers at Asbury Theological Seminary located at 204 N.
