Malcolm Randolph “Randy” Robbins, Jr., 71, of Hanahan, South Carolina, husband of Faye Waldhour Robbins, entered into eternal rest Thursday, September 26, 2024. His Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 12, 2024 in Bethel United Methodist Church, 57 Pitt Street at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends Saturday an hour prior to the service. The service will be live-streamed on Bethel’s YouTube channel.
Randy was born July 12, 1953 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Malcolm Randolph Robbins, Sr. and Helen Gelzer Robbins. He was a Product Specialist for Vallen, formerly Hagemeyer NA, formerly Cameron and Barkley until his retirement in 2023.
Randy loved life, family, Bethel, and The Citadel. He and his family became members of Bethel United Methodist in 2000 where his children, Amelia and Nathan, grew and thrived to adulthood. He loved every moment of their youth, devoting countless hours as a color guard and band parent during their middle and high school years. His only granddaughter, Elizabeth, was truly the Apple of his eye with her loving hugs, kisses, and conversations.
Randy was a member of The Chancel Choir where he sang bass next to other Citadel alumni. Randy’s last opportunity to watch his Bulldogs was September 14 where they won 54-0, and he was happy!
He is survived by his wife, Faye, of 36 years; son, Nathan Robbins; daughter, Amelia Robbins, granddaughter Elizabeth Jantzen; siblings Rhonda Garrett, Sharon Atherton (David), and Deen Robbins; he is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
