Mr. Leslie Devlin Weeks, Jr., passed away at home on January 6, 2003 after a short illness. L.D. was born on May 15, 1929 in Charlotte, NC, the son of the late Leslie D. Weeks, Sr. and Mrs. Caroline Weeks. He was a graduate of Central High School, attended the Citadel in Charleston, SC and Queens College in Charlotte. He was an employee of Duke Power for 35 years and retired as Distribution Safety Supervisor in 1984. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Masterman Weeks; a son, Michael Devlin Weeks, and wife, Julie; a daughter, Rebecca Weeks Boisvert, and husband Michael; a sister, Whaley Batson of Winston-Salem; a step-son, Donald Edward Hollifield; grandchildren, Justin and Sam Weeks, Mike Bobby, Lisa Boisvert, Anna Hollifield; and two great grandchildren. Services will be held Thursday, 2 p.m. at Harry and Bryant Company, Chapel in the Oaks’, 500 Providence Road, with the Reverend Gary Royals officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Harry and Bryant Company. Harry and Bryant Company is serving the family of Mr. Weeks.
