Leonard H. (Budgie) Broome, of Ninety Six, was born on March 25, 1934 and passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018.
Leonard was a resident of Greenwood, South Carolina at the time of passing.
Born March 25, 1934 in Greenwood to the late James leonard and Montine Temples Broome, he was a 1953 graduate of Greenwood High School and a 1957 graduate of The Citadel.
Budgie was a proud Army Veteran and worked for Sears Roebuck and Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1995 in Stone Mountian GA.
Surviving other than his loving wife of 62 years, are his children, Christopher Eugene Broome and wife Virginia of Williamsburg VA, Michael James Broome and wife Leslie of Allen TX, and Lisa Broome Yarbrough and husband Boyd of Westlake OH; his sister Flora Files and husband Horce of Greenwood; his grandchildren Tiffany Broome Cassidy, Aaron Broome, Ambra Yarbrough Hiott, Nikki Broome, Tyler Yarbrough, Geneva McHenry, Zach Hardaway, and Abby Broome; and his five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 PM from St. Mark United Methodist Church with Rev. Steven Brown and Rev. Barrett Alewine officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
