Larry Wyndham, Jr., 83, of Goose Creek, widower of Marilyn Douglas Wyndham, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Larry was born October 17, 1934 in Charleston County, growing up in the Garco Village of North Charleston, a son of Larry Wyndham, Sr. and Channie Hood Wyndham. A loving father and grandfather, Larry was a graduate of North Charleston High School, where he was very proud and honored to have played in the 15th annual Shrine Bowl on December 1, 1951. He was also a 1961 graduate of The Citadel, where he obtained a degree in political science. A Jaycee, Mason, member of the Scottish Rite and a Shriner who also served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Larry retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard and was a founding member of The Lord Berkeley Conservation Trust and a past commissioner of the Berkeley County Soil and Water Conservation District. Larry loved life to the fullest, he was an advocate for the visually impaired as well as Alzheimer’s care givers. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Surviving are a daughter- Lori Wyndham McFadden and her husband, Pat, of Goose Creek; a son- Wade Wyndham and his wife, Robin, of Moncks Corner; two grandchildren- Brittany Wyndham and Wade Wyndham, Jr. both of Moncks Corner; a step brother- Charles Taylor; a step sister- Gloria Kinsey and a special friend Vera Carson. He was predeceased by a brother- Charles R. Wyndham and a sister- Bernice Facello. His funeral service will be held at Russell Funeral Chapel, Saturday morning January 20, 2018 at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens, North Charleston. The family will receive friends at Russell Funeral Chapel on Friday evening, January 19, 2018 from 6 to 8 o’clock.
