HAMRICK, Larry BLYTHEWOOD Larry E. Hamrick, 71, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 18, 2006 after a brief battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Grace, and their children and grandchildren. Born in Forest City, NC, Larry was the son of the late Lawrence Edward and Mable Neal Hamrick. After graduating from The Citadel in 1956, he married Grace Jordan in Hartsville, SC. Larry served three years in the USAF. He worked for 38 years in sales and marketing and retired from AMPAD in 1998. In 1988, he was named to the Ben Lippen School Board of Directors in Columbia. He retired from the board after 15 years and was named Board Member Emeritus. Larry had a 25-year ministry with Christian Business Men’s Committee which is a marketplace ministry of evangelism and discipleship to men. He also served as an elder at Riverbend Community Church. Through his mentorship, he inspired many to a deeper walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm at Riverbend Community Church, 1015 Corley Mill Rd in Lexington on Monday, February 20, 2006. A homecoming service in celebration of Larry’s life will be held at the church at 11 am on Tuesday, February 21, 2006. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverbend Community Church’s benevolence fund, 1015 Corley Mill Rd, Lexington SC 29072 or Ben Lippen School, 7401 Monticello Rd, Columbia SC 29203.
