DOZIER, Kathryn Kathryn Ruth Dozier, 31, of Charleston, SC died January 1, 2008. Kathryn was born November 30, 1976 in Florence, SC to James F. Dickson and Patricia P. Dickson. She was a summa cum laude graduate of Clemson University in Elementary Education. She was awarded the South Carolina Student Teacher of the Year Award during her time at Clemson. She went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Math and Science Education at the College of Charleston. She was a National Board Certified Teacher and then earned a second Master’s Degree in Education Administration at the Citadel. She was a middle school mathematics teacher at Alston Middle School in Summerville before she became an assistant principal at Thomas C. Cario Middle School in Mount Pleasant, SC. Kathryn was an extremely gifted and devoted educator and an energetic advocate for her students. She was a member of a number of professional societies and was an active member of the Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Kathryn is survived by her husband, Thomas S. Dozier of Charleston; her parents James F. and Patricia P. Dickson of York, SC; two brothers, David F. Dickson of Clover, SC and Mark A. Dickson of McKinney, TX; two sisters-in-law, and a niece and nephew. The funeral will be held on January 4, 2008 at 11 AM, First Presbyterian Church, 10 W. Liberty Street, York, SC, with visitation at the church at 10 AM. Graveside services will follow. Family and friends are also invited to celebrate her life at a memorial service at Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church, 302 Hibben Street, Mount Pleasant SC, on Saturday, January 5 at 4 PM, with visitation to follow in the fellowship hall.
