Katherine Ann Williams Pinner entered into eternal rest Saturday, December 28, 2024. Her Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home. (1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston, SC 29407). The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Kathy was born October 9, 1949 in Savannah, Georgia. She was the daughter of Ken and Dorothy Williams. Her family moved to Charleston and she attended Blessed Sacrament and Bishop England high school. Kathy graduated from the Baptist College (Charleston Southern) in 1971 and received her Masters Degree in 1985 from the Citadel. During this time she was a member and officer of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Kathy began her teaching career in 1971, at Country Day High School in Hollywood, SC, and continued teaching for 35 years. She especially enjoyed teaching at Goose Creek High School, where she taught Marketing. She always had fond memories of taking her students to State and National Conferences, where they would compete with many other schools. She always came home with winners. Kathy was very proud to still have many students as her friends. Kathy received many awards over the years, including Teacher of the Year for Marketing.
Kathy married Champ Pinner Aug, 9, 1980, and welcomed a son into their lives on July 1, 1993. She balanced being a mother and teacher to perfection.
After retirement, Kathy continued to be a substitute teacher and also enjoyed being a part of the Retired Teachers Organization. She enjoyed teaching, traveling, and reading (especially World War II stories).
Kathy was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her loving husband Champ; her cherished son John; and her beloved dog Sophie.
