Karl Hilprecht, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016. Service: Upon request of the deceased, no memorial service will be conducted and cremation will be rendered immediately after passing. Karl was born Nov. 10, 1929, in Catonsville, Md., a suburb of Baltimore, Md. He was educated in Baltimore County schools followed by graduation from The Citadel, the military college of S.C. where he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. Before retirement, he served as an aircraft controller in the air defense command, followed by assignments as personnel/administrative officer in various commands, as well as squadron commander, instructor at the Air Force Officer Training School, Lackland Air Force Base, and inspector general for the Turkey/US Logistics Command in Ankara, Turkey. During his military tenure he obtained a Master’s degree from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas. Following retirement, Karl pursued a doctorate degree while teaching in the evening at Texas Christian University. Thereafter, he was employed at various state and federal agencies for a number of years. As an avid runner, he was most proud of being a charter member of the Fort Worth Runners Club, serving as its treasurer for 15 years. Survivors: His sons, Richard and Dave Hilprecht; his only grandson, London; his former wife of 32 years Nellie Hilprecht Dearman and the mother of his sons, with whom he remained in lifelong friendship; and his loyal companions, Jasper, Ernie, Murphee, and Mitzie.
