John Paul Jones 1932-2005 John Paul Jones passed away on May 9, 2005, after a lengthy illness. Born on September 23, 1932 in Pensacola, Fla., the son of Walter and Jessie Prestwood Jones, both who preceded him in death. He was raised in Pensacola, graduating from Pensacola High School and later from The Citadel, Charleston, S.C. John is survived by his wife of 50 years, Naomie Meeks Jones and three children, Lisa and Douglas Markham of Madison, Miss., Paula and Ron Beegle of Rome, Ga., Walter and Mary Ann Jones of Sheboygan, Wis., and seven precious grand children. Following graduation from The Citadel; John served in the U.S. Army with the 9th Infantry Division., he returned to Pensacola following his discharge and was employed by Chemstrand Corporation, later transferring to Monsanto’s Polymers and Plastics Division. Asales career spanning 31 years saw assignments in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina. John retired from Monsanto in 1992 having been selected a Master Salesman a record seven times. He relocated to Gulf Breeze, Tiger Point area in 1994. He was a five-year volunteer with the Gulf Islands National Seashore and a member of Saint Augustine Episcopal Church. Memorial services will be held at Noon Friday, May 27th, 2005, at the Saint Augustine Episcopal Church of Navarre, 7810 Navarre Parkway, Navarre, with The Reverend Neil M. Kaminski, officiating, and directing services. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to; St. Augustine Episcopal Church, P.O.
