Colonel James Montgomery Preston III, 84, of Fort Myers, Fla., passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 7, 2024. He was born October 27, 1939 in Roanoke, VA, to James M Preston, Jr. and Letitia Preston. He was a 1958 graduate of Lakeland Highschool and a 1962 Graduate of The Citadel. Jim worked for Dupont in Martinsville, VA and was a Army reservist achieving the rank of Colonel before retiring to Florida. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lou Preston (2021), Son Charles Andrew Preston (1968) and grandson Mark Preston (2023). Jim is survived by his sons, Brad (Francee) of Franklin, TN and Dan (Desi) of Fort Myers, FL, and step children Toni Holbrook (Steve) of Orlando, FL, Patricia Elder of Somerville, TN, Gina Radcliff (John) of Orlando, FL and Giacomo Strollo (Joanna) of San Diego, CA; grandchildren: Kendall Preston, Carson Preston (Madison) Andrew Preston (Sarah), William Preston, Pavia Gooch, Umbria Gooch Richards (Justin), Madiran Gooch Calloway (Steven), Aveyron Gooch, Addison Radcliff (Stephanie), Jacqueline Radcliff, Matthew Holbrook. Memorial Service will be held on April 27th
