James “Jimmy” Lee, 68, of Florence, SC, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 2, 2017. He was the husband of Midge Lee with whom he shared 40 years of marriage.
Born in Norfolk, VA, he was the son of Hubert K. and Doris W. Lee. He attended The Citadel where he played football for four years and graduated in 1971. He was retired from Amspak, where he served as the Executive Vice President for 37 years.
He was an active member, deacon, and Sunday school teacher at the Florence Baptist Temple. He also enjoyed being an assistant coach for Florence Christian School’s football team. He will be fondly remembered for his thoughtful poetry, witty jokes, and deep faith in Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Midge; three daughters, Allison, Melissa, and Caroline; three sons-in-law, Dave, Jeremy, and Grayson; and six grandchildren, Jack, Emmy, Luke, Clara, Charleston, and Joey. He was predeceased by his parents, Hubert K. and Doris W. Lee.
The family will receive family and friends on Thursday, July 6 at the Florence Baptist Temple at 10:00 am. Visitation will be followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at the Florence Baptist Temple and a graveside memorial at the Mount Hope Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Waters-Powell Funeral Home.
