James Harvey Brown, Jr., of Moncks Corner, died July 26, 2020. He was born August 17, 1975 to James H. Brown, Sr. and Ivy Nell Russell in Clovis, New Mexico. James graduated from E.E. Smith High School in Fayetteville, NC in 1993. He received a full football scholarship to attend The Citadel (SC); there he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical and Physical Health and Wellness in 1997. Post graduation, James went on to receive a Masters’ Degree in Computer Resources and Information Management. James was united in holy matrimony to Kenya Jonae’ Simmons on March 6, 1999. To this union two children were born; Ziah Jonae’ Brown and James Harvey Brown, III. James wore many hats. He was an amazing father. He loved his family and did all that he could to make sure everyone was good. He was the ultimate Grill Master. He mentored countless individuals, loved playing the guitar, coached track, played golf, loved football but most of all he was a faithful supporter of his kids many activities. James worked for several companies where he made a major impact with his experience, expertise, and dedication to the success of each company. Notable mentions: Thrace LINQ, Inc. (SC), Shaw Industries (GA), Glit Microtron (GA), and his current employer, Honeywell (SC). He was an active member of Abiding Word Family Ministries. He leaves to cherish his memory; his mother, Ivy Nell (Joseph) Russell; his father, James H. Brown, Sr.; his wife, Kenya J. Brown; daughter, Ziah J. Brown; son, James Harvey Brown, III; sisters, Konya (Jules) Gallien, Sklyer Whitt, Dedra Whitt and Brittany Brown; brother, Travis Brown; seven aunts; two uncles; a host of nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
