James E. Wilson, of Columbia, died January 10, 2015. Born March 24, 1930, in Charleston, he was the son of the late James E. Wilson, Sr. and Drucille Haigler Wilson. He graduated from Charleston High School and The Citadel. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Wilson had been employed by the U. S. Postal System and the U. S. Naval Supply Center in Charleston. He moved to Columbia in 1966 and retired as Executive Vice President from The Farm Credit Banks of Columbia. Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Hedy Seyfert Wilson; a daughter, Mrs. Donna Wilson Strickland (Wayne) of Lexington, S. C.; a son Robert E. Wilson (Barbara) of Coppell, Texas; granddaughter Dargin Seaver (Bobby), of Columbia; grandsons, Robert C. Wilson (Lindsey) and Nick J. Wilson of Texas; great-grandsons, Beckham L. Wilson and Jenner J. Wilson of Texas and Bryson Seaver of Columbia; and great-granddaughters, Bobbie Miranda Seaver, Caitlyn Seaver and Bayleigh M. Seaver of Columbia. Mr. Wilson was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Columbia, where he previously served on the Church Council. He was a former member of the Charleston Elks Club. Also, was a former member of the Columbia Rotary Club. He was a former member of Rockbridge Club, where he served on the board of Directors and as President. He loved spending time at his second home on the Isle of Palms. Funeral service will be held at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 13th. Visitation will be at Dunbar Funeral Home from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12th. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1715 Bull Street, Columbia, SC 29201.
