James Edward Dudley Jr., of Bennetsville, SC, died, Dec. 11, 2014. Service for Mr. James Edward Dudley, Jr., 84, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church with entombment in Dudley-Drake Cemetery. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Friday at Whitner-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society , 181 East Evans St., Suite C-2, Florence, SC 29506 or the First Presbyterian Church, 130 Broad St., Bennettsville, SC 29512. Mr. Dudley died Thursday, December 11, 2014. Born June 21, 1930, in Marlboro County, he was a son of the late J.E. Sr., and Virginia Bradham Dudley. He was a 1952 graduate of The Citadel where he was a member of the Summerall Guard. He had retired as a lieutenant colonel from the U.S. Air Force and had served in the Korean conflict. He was also a retired agent from the Midgely Agency. He was a member and elder of First Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Kiwanis Club. He was an avid golfer, loving husband, father and grandfather. Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Lynne Eidson Dudley of Bennettsville, a son, James Edward Dudley, III of Bennettsville, a daughter, Dr. Jane Senseney of Florence; and a grandchild, Charles Matthew Senseney of Florence. He was predeceased by a brother, Donald Dudley.
