Mr. James Clarence Nicholson, Jr, age 85, of Douglasville, passed away October 1, 2005 at his residence. He was born November 12, 1919 in Savannah. GA; son of the late James C. and Willye Johnston Nicholson. Mr. Nicholson was a 1942 graduate of The Citadel, a Captain in the U.S. Army, a veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Bronze Star. He served 33 years as an educator impacting lives at the Carlisle Military Academy Cobb, Douglas and Walker counties. Mr. Nicholson was a member of the First Methodist Church of Douglasville. Surviving family members are Alice Nicholson of Douglasville; Cole and David Black of Lithia Springs; Jim and Linda Nicholson of Canton; grandchildren, Chris and Karen Black, Chad and Emily Black, Taylor Nicholson, Alison Nicholson; Great grandchildren, Daniel Black and Lani Black. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 2nd from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be at The First Methodist Church of Douglasville on Monday, October 3rd at 2:00 PM. Reverends Jim Turrentine, Milton Dwelle and Bill Holcomb will officiate.
