The relatives and friends of Mr. & Mrs. Jack Fanning, Jr. are invited to attend the funeral service of the former at First Baptist Church of Charleston, SC Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at ten o’clock. Interment, Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery, Norway, SC at three o’clock. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL Monday between six and eight o’clock. Colonel Fanning was born August 8, 1937 in Norway, SC a son of Jack Fanning, Sr. and Lillie Lou Hutto Fanning. He graduated Norway High School in 1955, BS Mechanical Engineering Clemson College Class 1959, MBA The Citadel 1976; he was a Past Chairman and presently Deacon of the First Baptist Church; President of Lake Frances Property Owners and St Michael’s Property Owners Association Board Member; S.A.M.E. member; Clemson Alumni, Longtime Member IPTAY; Past President of the West Ashley Civitan Club, presently Governor of the SC District Civitan; he was retired (1994) Project Manager for the Southern Division Naval Facilities (NAVFAC) Engineering Command. He is survived by his wife and children: Jonie Fanning Reeves and her husband, Phillip L. Reeves, Mark Allen Fanning and his wife Deanna Leber Fanning, John Russell Fanning and his wife Lesley Milson Fanning, step-daughter, Louise Reid Masterson and her husband Robert A. Masterson all of Charleston, SC; his sisters: Gladys Fanning Jarvis, Doris Fanning Easterling and her husband, Charles Easterling, Alma Fanning Knight and her husband Fitzhugh Knight and Joanne Fanning O’Riley and her husband Myles O’Riley all of Columbia, SC; five grandchildren: Jayme Lynn Reeves, Allen Russell Reeves, Kelly Elizabeth Reeves, Avery Allen Fanning and Todd Michael Fanning; two step-grandchildren, Anthony Carlyle Masterson and Christian Reid Masterson; one great-granddaughter, Charlotte Ann Reeves. He is predeceased by his first wife Charlotte Thurmond Fanning.
