James “Kyle” Settle, of Inman, 36, passed away on August 10, 2021 in the arms of his wife, who will carry on his legacy, along with their children, of faith and family. Kyle graduated Chapman HS in 2003 and The Citadel (F-Troop) in 2007. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He met his wife Jennifer at Clemson in November 2004. They began dating immediately & were married in August 2008. Kyle was so proud of his children, Kinsley Anne, Wyatt, and Mary Hartwell. He was always on the ball field, in the stands, or on the wrestling mat cheering them on. Kyle took the time to foster relationships, and after the Lord’s, his wife & kids’ were the most important. Kyle was an active member of his community, serving time on the Inman Chamber of Commerce board and completing Leadership Spartanburg. Kyle worked for DPR Construction in Greenville, SC & he also worked alongside his father assisting with Yaupon Construction in Inman, SC. Kyle led a men’s Bible Study and the family faithfully attended their church. He loved the Clemson Tigers and the Citadel Bulldogs, sometimes waking his kids up with his cheering during late night games. Kyle loved the outdoors fishing, hunting, and tending cattle. Kyle never did things halfway, and our cattle program was well regarded after just a few years due to his hard work and research. Kyle is survived by his wife of 13 years, Jennifer Gilbert Settle, his children Kinsley Anne (10), Wyatt (7), & Mary Hartwell (2), parents Randy & Julie Settle, two brothers Ryan (Ashley) & Clay (Tory), parents-in-law Craig & Kathleen Gilbert, sister-in-law Katy Furr (Stephen), nieces Emma, Avery Grace, & Sadie Mae, nephews Benjamin & Reed, grandmother Patricia Keadle and great Aunt Frankie Shehan, and a special honorary brother Jonathan Fowler (Jenna & kids Kade and Kennedy Reese). He was also loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends. He is predeceased by grandparents Spencer Keadle, Larry Settle, and Dot Settle. The family will be receiving family & friends at Seawright Funeral Home on Friday, August 20, 2021 from 4-6pm. A funeral will be held at Church at the Mill in Moore, SC on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 1pm. A private family burial will follow. Mask will be optional.
