Gregory R. Butler, of Midlothian, Va., a kind and generous family man, died peacefully on March 6, 2019. Greg was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Joseph Butler; and mother, Helen Margaret Halloran. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Virginia Butler; two daughters, Kelly Butler (Fred Moosally) and Kristin Butler; four siblings, Jeanne Morton, Peter Butler, Mary Krom and Michael Butler. Lovingly known as Pops or Popsy to his two grandchildren Keira and Kyler, they were the greatest joy of his life. Formerly of New York City, he quickly adapted to the Southern lifestyle. He attended The Citadel, graduating in 1973, and served in the U.S. Army. He earned a MBA in finance from Long Island University. As a businessman and seasoned tax advisor, Greg will be sorely missed by his tax colleagues and clients at WB Elite Tax and Accounting. A memorial ceremony will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at Bliley’s-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd. A reception will follow at WB Elite, 3453 West Hundred Rd., Chester, Va.
