Dee Reddick, owner of Redix of Wrightsville Beach, passed away on April 26th, 2025. He was born in Alamance County, NC on September 11th, 1944 to Gordon D. Reddick Jr. and Kathryn Reddick. He was a high school graduate of The Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN where he excelled in baseball and wrestling. He continued his sports career at The Citadel in Charleston, SC class of 1966.
Working with his father as a young man, he developed a strong work ethic, dedication and a sense of pride in every endeavor. Dee was a devoted husband, father, brother, friend, and was always a present figure in their lives. Opening Redix in W.B. in 1969, Dee’s impact extended far beyond his family. Over the course of more than fifty years, he devoted himself to mentoring and developing others, teaching countless individuals how to grow into successful and principled men and women. His patient leadership had a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of working alongside of him.
Dee lived a life of integrity, kindness, generosity with a keen sense of humor, and one hell of a dancer. His legacy of strength, kindness and leadership will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, colleagues and the countless lives that he touched.
He is survived by his wife of almost 42 years, Sue Parks Reddick, his children Daniel (Claire), Laura Mackey (Levi), Gordon, and Meredith; his three grandsons, Wiley & Graham Reddick and Hunter Mackey.
A celebration of life will be held at the Olympia Restaurant in Wilmington on Wednesday, April 30th between 5-8.
