Forrest Wilder Davis, Jr., known affectionately to family and friends as Wilder, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, in Fayetteville, Georgia, just shy of his 87th birthday. Born on December 18, 1938, in East Point, Georgia, Wilder lived a life full of love, dedication, and quiet strength.
A proud veteran, Wilder served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force, where he developed a keen sense of discipline and duty. These values carried over into his professional life, where he found success as a Certified Public Accountant and owner of a finance firm. Wilder’s commitment to excellence and integrity in his work left an indelible mark on the community he served.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Wilder cherished his roles as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His late wife, Sandra Lee Davis, was the love of his life, and together they created a family rooted in warmth and kindness. Wilder’s legacy lives on through his devoted children, Laura Powell (Brian) and Eric Davis, and his beloved granddaughter, Sydney Lee Powell, who brought endless joy to his heart. His cousin Jimmy, alongside Donna Holloway, extended family, and numerous friends, will remember him with deep affection for his unwavering loyalty and friendship.
Wilder’s life was a testament to the power of kindness and dedication. Those who knew him admired his humility, gentle spirit, and the way he quietly impacted the lives around him. His memory will be cherished and his spirit celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
As Wilder journeys onward to reunite with those who have gone before him, he leaves behind an enduring legacy of love and integrity. His life is a reminder of the importance of family, service, and unwavering devotion to one’s principles.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM – 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
