Evander Horace Arnette, Jr., 75, of Hamer, passed away Monday, July 15, 2024 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Burial with military honors will be held in Culbreth Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Thursday prior to service at the church.
Born in Dillon County, SC, October 31, 1948, he was the son of the late Evander Horace Arnette, Sr. and Jan Atkins Arnette. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, and was a Farmer. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served a tour in Korea. He was stationed in Georgia and Maryland, and he attended Officer’s Candidate School in Georgia. He was honorably discharged with the rank of E-5. He was a graduate of The Citadel where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree.
Survivors include his daughter, Elizabeth Carmichael (Michael) of Dillon; sons, Jacob Arnette (Rebecca) of Gresham, and Wilson Arnette (Tiffany) of Winston Salem, NC; grandchildren, Ashlyn Carmichael, McLeod Carmichael, Emmagrace Arnette, Josiah Arnette, Isabella Arnette, Lydia Arnette, Madilyn Arnette, Hunter Arnette, and Tesher Arnette; sisters, Faye Arnette Rentz (Marion) of Greenville, SC, and Joyce Arnette of Dillon; brother, Charles Arnette of Dillon.
Mr. Arnette was preceded in death by his parents, Evander Horace Arnette, Sr. and Jan Atkins Arnette.
