Services for Edward Ralph Barwick Sr., 76, of Cayce, will be held at 2 pm Friday, April 8, 2022 at Transfiguration Lutheran Church, 1301 12th Street, Cayce, conducted by the Rev. Alex Twedt. Visitation will be held in the sanctuary from 12:30-1:45 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at Union Lutheran Church cemetery, Highway 378, Leesville at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Transfiguration Lutheran Church. Barr- Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel is assisting the family. Mr. Barwick, husband of Marty Jo Derrick Barwick, passed peacefully from his earthly life to his eternal life on April 5, 2022. Born in Sumter County, he was the oldest son of the late Ralph and Laura Barwick. Mr. Barwick, a 1967 graduate of the Citadel, spent his military career with the SC National Guard as an instructor with the SC Military Academy and worked at the SC Department of Revenue for 40 years. After retirement, he enjoyed golf and especially open track car racing through the Southeastern NASA Auto Racing organization where he obtained his racing license. Surviving are his wife of 47.5 years, his daughter Lori (Scott); son Eddy Jr.; five grandchildren, Cameron, Becca, Natalee Kunce, and Abigail and Madison Barwick; brothers Lloyd “Bubba” (Nell); Cecil (Roxann) and numerous nephews and nieces whom he loved dearly.
