HEUER, JR., Edward Entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 15, 2004, Mr. Edward Henry Heuer, Jr. husband of Gertrude Clair Heuer, of Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Edward H. Heuer, Jr. are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 18, 2004, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be at St. Lawrence Cemetery. Friends may call at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home 1620 Savannah Hwy. this Friday evening between 5:00 and 7:00 PM. The Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Heuer was born in Charleston on Sunday, August 22, 1926, a son of Edward Henry and Josephine Marino Heuer. He graduated from Charleston High School and the Citadel Class of 1950. Mr Heuer honorably served his country during World War II in the United States Navy . He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 704, the American Legion, the Citadel Brigadier Club and was active at Blessed Sacrament Church Mr. Heuer ran a grocery store on Bogard Street, the Lucky Dollar Grocery Store at Hasell and Anson Streets and The Dime Store at Simmons and King Streets in downtown Charleston. He was an insurance agent for the South Atlantic Insurance Company for 27 years. Mr. Heuer is survived by his wife, Gertrude C. Heuer, six children, Trudie H. Ford Edward H. Heuer, III, Deborah C. Heuer, Robert P. Bobby Heuer, Patrick J. Heuer and Jacquelyn H. Evans; one sister: Mary H. Cale, fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
