Edward Gordon McCollough, 85, husband of JoAnn Joye McCollough, passed away Saturday June 13, 2015, in Kingstree Nursing Facility. Mr. McCollough was born September 4, 1929, in Salters, SC, a son of the late Wilmot Salters McCollough and Mary Lee Holliday McCollough. He was a graduate of Kingstree High School and The Citadel and served in the Korean War in C Company as a 1st Lieutenant. After his tour of duty, he joined his father in a farm supply business, W.S. McCollough and Sons, which he continued to operate until 2012. He was a member of Union Presbyterian Church where he was a Deacon and a former Sunday School teacher. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gordon was preceded in death by his brother, Wilmot S. McCollough, Jr. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 32 years, JoAnn McCollough, are: his children, Georgia McCollough (Rob) Kincaid, and Debbie McCollough (Joe) Burrows, both of Salters, Edward Gordon McCollough, Jr., of New York City, Evie Tisdale and Lynn (Abby) Tisdale, both of Kingstree; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 3 PM Tuesday June 16, 2015, in Union Presbyterian Church in Salters with burial in the church cemetery.
