Edgar “Ed” Thibodeau, 74, died recently at home in Avon, CT. Born in Hartford on September 21, 1938, he was the son of the late Edgar and Dorothy (Viens) Thibodeau. Ed lived in the Hartford area most of his life, and resided in Avon over 30 years. He graduated from Hall High School in West Hartford, and went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. He later was granted a master’s degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Ed worked for many years as an aerospace engineer on behalf of United Technologies in Windsor Locks. He was a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. In his younger years, Ed was an avid tennis player. Ed loved the natural world and was interested in American history, and particularly the Civil War, throughout his life. He is survived by his daughters, Heather Thibodeau, Jessica Thibodeau and Amanda Adams and their respective spouses; his sister, Linda Benoit; four grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; his first wife, Patricia Carlet; and a step-son, Michael Godin.
