Dylan Jacob Cruz, 27, of Ridgeway, SC, born September 12, 1992 in Columbia SC, passed away peacefully January 18, 2020. He served as a 1st Lt in the USMC with the 10th Marines Division at Camp Lejeune, NC. A 2015 graduate of The Citadel, he was recipient of the Mr. and Mrs. George F. McCormick, Class of 1935, academic scholarship, completing a Bachelor of Science in H.E.S.S with Suma Cum Laude honors. Dylan was also an honors graduate from Fairfield Central High School, Class of 2011. He was the firstborn son of Ferdinand Cruz and Crystal Joy Cruz. In addition to his parents, survivors include his brother, Christian Jobe Cruz and his nephew, Skyler Cruz. Maternal Grandmother, Maurene Lee Olson and Grandfather, Stanley David Olson, wife Zola B Olson. Paternal Grandmother, Haydee R Cruz and late Grandfather, Basilidez Medina Cruz, retired US Army. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins along with a countless number of loving friends.Dylan was an avid deer and duck hunter, an expert marksman. He loved fishing with friends, four wheeling and big trucks. Dylan will always be remembered by his loving smile, loyalty, and laughter
