Doris Jeanette Mishoe, 74, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Friday afternoon, March 10, 2023 at Magnolias of Santee. Born January 30, 1949 in Apopka, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Jenkins and Alvin Albernette Adams Willis. Jeanette receive her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Carson-Newman University in Tennessee and then received her Master’s Degree in Special Education from The Citadel. She taught school in Florida and in Colleton County for a total of 30 years, retiring from the Colleton County School District. She loved children and loved to help them learn. She tutored in home for many years and was a short and long term babysitter. Jeanette was a member of First Baptist Church Walterboro where she was active until her health limited her activities. At her beloved church, she was a former Sunday School Teacher and Children’s Choir Leader. Surviving are: her husband, Johnny Mack Mishoe; brothers, Larry Jenkins of Mosheim, Tennessee and Richard Alan Jenkins (Betty) of Knoxville, Tennessee; aunt, Betty Jenkins of Greenville, Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Janice Horton (Joe) of Beaufort, Dottie Wilson (Jimmy) of Brunson, Linda Wolfe of Ridgeland, Jeanette Sterling (Richard) of Stokes Bluff, and Judy Peeples of Varnville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 o’clock, Wednesday morning, March 15, 2023 at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 at THE BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOMES AND CREMATORY, WALTERBORO CHAPEL, 1193 Bells Highway, Walterboro.
