Donald Wade Poteat, 82, of North Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, July 22, 2014. All services will be private. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Charleston. Donald was born September 15, 1931 in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, son of Eugene Justice Poteat and Sarah Darnell Poteat. He was a graduate of Clemson University and The Citadel where he received his Master’s Degree. He was an Army veteran and was a retired Geodesist with a Government Mapping Agency. This job enabled him to travel the world and see exotic places, which was one of his true passions. He was a member of Cherokee United Methodist Church. He is survived by his brother, Eugene Poteat of Alexandria, VA; and a nephew and seven nieces. Donald was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wayne Poteat of St. Charles, IL.
