SCOTCH PLAINS — Donald C. Epstein, 72, died Thursday (Aug. 14, 2003) at his home in Scotch Plains. He was born in Plainfield, and resided in Scotch Plains since 1975. He was a 1954 graduate of The Citadel, with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Mr. Epstein served in the U.S. Army during peacetime in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and was the assistant post engineer at Camp Kilmer during the Hungarian uprising. He was a self-employed civil engineer, owner of Associates in Engineering, Scotch Plains. Prior to that, he owned Epstein and Associates, South Plainfield, for 20 years. He was predeceased by his son, Robert Epstein. Surviving are his wife, Roberta; his children, Nancy Cersonsky, Judy Epstein, Michael Epstein, Fred Leighton, Andrea Wedeen and Lara DiFabrizio; and his grandchildren, Lauren, Stephen, Rachelle, Andrew, Bobby, Katie, Rachel and Samantha. A graveside service will take place 1 p.m. Sunday at B’nai Abraham Memorial Park, Union. Arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, 2950 Vaux Hall Road, Union.
