Donald B. Hite, MD Greenville Entered into rest on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at his residence, Dr. Donald B. Hite. Dr. Hite was born in Lexington, but grew up in Augusta. He was a graduate of the Citadel in 1957 and the Medical College of Georgia in 1961. Dr. Hite was an officer and physician in the U.S. Air Force for seventeen years. He was in private practice as an ENT and Facial Plastic Surgeon until his retirement in 1990. Family members include his son, Mark W. Hite and wife, Leigh, of Augusta; a daughter, Cynthia Johnston and husband, Chris, of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Blanding Hite, Taylor Hite, Laura Johnston and Whitney Johnston; a brother, William B. Hite and wife, Pat, of Mt. Pleasant; and a sister, Sue H. Bird and husband, Noel, of Pauley’s Island. Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son, with the Rev. Michael Ruffin and the Rev. Al Caddenhead officiating. Pallbearers will be Cecil Quattlebaum, Richard W. Locke, Mel Coker, Jim Watson, Anthony Conway, Todd Bird, Chris Bird, Steve Hooks and Brian Hite. Private burial services will be at Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the residence of the son Mark following the service.
