Debbie Oxner Jordan, 63, formerly of Newberry, passed away in Benton, Arkansas on October 31, 2023 after a brief illness. She is the daughter of Jewel Oxner of Newberry and the late George T. Oxner. Debbie was a graduate of Newberry High School. After graduating she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Education/Music from the University of South Carolina and a Masters of Education degree from The Citadel. She was a former band director at Drayton Hall Middle School in Charleston, South Carolina.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Jim Jordan of Benton, Arkansas, a sister Tracie (C.A.) Shealy of Prosperity, SC and two nieces, Katherine Shealy of San Mateo, CA and Jennifer Shealy of Charlotte, NC.
A service will be held in Arkansas at 11am, C.S.T. on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Malvern, Arkansas. The service is to be live streamed on the churches Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/faithmbchurchmalvern
A Celebration of Life will also be held for her in Newberry at 3pm on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Bethany Lutheran Church with a gathering for family and friends immediately following the service.
