On March 28, 2023, the S.C. Legislature voted to name the bridge that crosses Russell Creek along Highway 174 in Charleston County the David L. Lybrand Memorial Bridge, in memory of David L. Lybrand, ’63. Lybrand was the owner and broker-in-charge of Edisto Sales and Rentals Realty until his retirement in 2006 and was devoted to the welfare of Edisto Island and its people.
