David Dewitt “Dave” Lowe, 63, of 100 Campden Court, Easley, died Thursday, November 24, 2011, at his home. Born October 15, 1948, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Bobo D. and Ella Leigh Lowe of Spartanburg. He was a 1970 graduate of the Citadel where he received his Bachelor in Business and later received his MBA from Webster College in 1977. David joined Michelin in 1978 after retiring from the U. S. Air Force, later becoming Vice President of Labor and Employee Relations of Michelin North America in 2001. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, a member of the Board of Directors of Greenville Tech, and an Eagle Scout. He was a volunteer and senior mentor to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School where his team was the “Dream School Team” and also spent time working with the homeless at Triune Mercy Center in Greenville. Survivors include his wife Kay McKinney Lowe; children David D. Lowe, II (Kelly) of Destin, FL, Walker M. Lowe (Mia Dube) of Gray Court, and Katharine W. Lowe of Atlanta, GA; granddaughter, Ella Louise Dube Lowe of Gray Court; sisters, Ann L. Towery (Ken) of Woodruff and Rosemary L. Dunbar (Jimson) of Spartanburg; mother-in-law, Eddie Waters McKinney; brothers-in law, Russ McKinney (Tina) of Bennetts Point, SC and Larry Bragg of Spartanburg; his beloved dogs, Sophie Grey and Mack; and a number of loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Elizabeth “Betsy” Hope of Hendersonville, NC and Katherine “Kathy” Bragg; and his father-in-law, W. R. McKinney, both of Spartanburg. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 27, 2011, at Bethel United Methodist Church, Spartanburg, conducted by the Rev. David B. Smith. Visitation will follow in the church parlor.
