David B. McClam, 72, of Lake City, passed away on February 6, 2026, at MUSC Health Black River Medical Center.
Mr. McClam was born on August 9, 1953, in Florence County, son of the late Tom McClam and Dorothy Stokes McClam. Mr. McClam received his Bachelor’s Degree from The Citadel, where he proudly served as a member of Charlie Company. He was employed with Carolina Tire of Lake City for many years prior to his retirement. Mr. McClam had a deep love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He cherished spending time with his boys, whether it was doing projects together, playing a round of golf, or making trips to the beach. A devoted supporter of his family, he could often be found cheering from the sidelines at sporting events. He also found great joy in listening to Motown music. Above all, he was a loving father and took great pride in being “Granddaddy David” to Trayce, a role he treasured dearly.
Surviving are his sons, Brendin (Kortney) McClam and Clayton McClam; grandson, Trayce McClam; brother, Tommy (Cathy) McClam; and other extended family members.
Mr. McClam was preceded in death by his wife, Gerhue Brickle McClam.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Carolina Funeral Home, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11:00 AM in the chapel.
