He served in the military forces as a paratrooper in the Army and as a regular line officer in the Navy. He had command of the USS Luzerne County LST 902 for a year in VietNam. He retired as a Lieutenant Commander in 1980, and then he set up his own heating and air conditioning business in the tri-valley area, east of San Francisco. From there, he and Linda moved to the Napa Valley, where he taught English at the local junior college and aboard Navy ships through the PACE program. David is also the author of six books.
Dave was a fortunate man in many ways – having a supportive family, many golfing friends, 39 years of sobriety, and good insurance.
