Clarke W. Olson, 67, of Hilton Head Island, died suddenly Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at his home. He was born April 18, 1938, in North Attleboro, Mass., son of the late Herbert and Irene Olson. He received a degree in business administration from The Citadel in 1960. For many years he worked for Republic Steel Corp. as a resident sales manager in the upstate New York area. He moved to the Charleston area in 1988 to start his own printing business, and in 1998 moved to Hilton Head. Since then he had been semi-retired. He was a member of the Hilton Head Plantation Yacht Club and a communicant of The Church of the Cross in Bluffton. He loved to sail, and in 1996 he signed up as a crew member on a replica of the HMS Bounty for a voyage from Charleston to New York City. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carol Ann a daughter, Constance Olson of Chatham, N.J. a daughter and son-in-law, Christine and David Bissonette of Scotia, N.Y. and two grandchildren, Andrew and Lauren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at The Church of the Cross, followed by a reception in the parish hall. Memorial contributions may be made to The Church of the Cross, P.O.
