Clarke Russell RUSSELL, Clarke Clarke Gibért Russell, 308 Shadowbrooke Court, Simpsonville, S.C., born January 6, 1986 was instantly called away September 10, 2005 by his Heavenly Father. He did not even have time to say goodbye to all of those whose lives he touched. Clarke gave his family and friends an abundance of love, laughter and unspeakable joy. Those who are blessed to have known and loved Clarke will carry his spirit in their hearts forever. A 2004 graduate of Mauldin High School, Clarke’s love of tradition led him to attend the Citadel where he was a member of 1st Battalion, Charlie Company, The Casual Cats , the Citadel Rugby Team, and had just begun his sophomore term. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Scott and Stephanie Benbenek of the home, his father, Carl E. Caz Russell of Myrtle Beach, S.C., his paternal grandparents, Carl E. and Genevieve Honey Russell of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, maternal grandparents, Charles M. Gandy Cape of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Hazel G. Mimi Cape of Greenville, S.C. and a multitude of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 13, 2005 from 6pm-8pm at THOMAS MCAFEE FUNERAL HOME, DOWNTOWN, 639 North Main Street, Greenville, SC. A service celebrating Clarke’s life, officiated by Pastor David Taylor will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 3 pm at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 2240 Woodruff Rd., Simpsonville, S.C. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Citadel Foundation in memory of Clarke G. Russell, 171 Moultrie Street, Charleston, SC 29409. The family will be at the home.
