Charles S. Lauder, Jr., 87, of Johns Island, widower of Anna M. Lauder, entered into eternal rest Monday, July 25, 2016, at the Veterans’ Victory House in Walterboro, SC. The relatives and friends of Charles S. Lauder are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 1605 Harbor View Road, James Island. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall, following the burial. Online Condolences may be offered at www.CharlestonFunerals.com. Charlie (Sonny), the son of Maybelle Way and Charles S. Lauder, Sr., was born in Charleston, SC on May 30, 1929. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a 1971 graduate of The Citadel and retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard’s Combat Systems division. He was a Past Master of Fidelity Lodge #304 and an active member of Scottish Rite. He was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church of Johns Island. Because of his passion for woodworking, he became a member of the Charleston Artist Guild and participated in the Piccolo Spoleto craft show for many years. Charlie was known for his dedication to his church, his family and his friends. Charlie is survived by three daughters, Sheryl Carroll (Henry) of Ruffin, Becky Lauder of Greenville, and Marybeth Brennan (Jim) of Charleston. He was blessed with four grandsons, Scott Bennett, Marc Bennett, Anthony Carter (Tonya), and Wesley Carter and two great-grands, Alissa Robinson and Kaia Carter. He also is survived by two brothers, Thomas Lauder and William Lauder. He is predeceased by both parents and a sister, Sandra Sims.
