Date of Death: 11/20/2006 Notice: McQueen, Charles Charles Price McQueen LORIS – Mr. Charles Price McQueen, 79, died Monday, (November 20, 2006) at Conway Medical Center following an illness. Born February 14, 1927 in Raeford, North Carolina, Mr. McQueen was the son of the late Gilbert Donald McQueen and the late Oma Mae Cheek McQueen.Mr. McQueen graduated with the class of 1945 from Loris High School and the class of 1950 at the Citadel. He served his country with courage and honor in the Navy during WWII. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he retired as Agent In Charge with the Horry County Probation and Parole Office. Mr. McQueen was a Mason with the Loris Blue Lodge #205, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, a member of the Omar Shrine Center in Mt. Pleasant, SC, a member of the Omar Goofy Golfers Shrine Unit, and a member of the Royal Order of Jesters. Mr. McQueen attended the Loris First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Mavericks Sunday School Class.Survivors include his wife: Rebecca Hardwick McQueen of Loris, SC; two daughters: Cheryl McQueen of New York, NY, and Julie McQueen of Charleston, SC; and one sister: Camilla McQueen Cook of Florence, SC. Mr. McQueen was predeceased by one brother: Gilbert Donald Little Don McQueen, Jr., and one sister: Christine Gilbert McQueen.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, (November, 24, 2006) at the Loris First Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Carl Harris. Committal services with full Masonic Rites will follow at Patterson Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, (November 22, 2006) evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hardwick Funeral Home, and friends are also invited to visit the family on Thanksgiving Day at their home.
