Charles Lamb Okey III, 83, of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, passed away on April 25, 2025. Born on July 23, 1941, in Rock Hill, Charles was the beloved son of Charles L. Okey, Jr. and Christine Cauthen Okey. He was a proud graduate of Winthrop Training School (Class of 1959), attended The Citadel, and completed his degree at the University of South Carolina cherishing his lifelong bond as a proud USC alumnus and loyal supporter of all things Carolina.
Charles excelled at everything he pursued, whether as a dedicated student, accomplished professional, devoted father, or steadfast friend. His generous spirit and commitment to excellence left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his sons, Charles Okey IV (Kim), William Okey (Linda), and Joseph Okey; his daughter, Adair Flynn (Jeff), 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; his sisters, Chris Okey Williamson, Susan Okey McLeod, and Margaret Okey Zapack; and his recently deceased brother Philip Cauthen Okey.
A graveside service will be held Friday, July 18, at 3:30 p.m. at Laurelwood Cemetery, 143 Laurel St., Rock Hill, SC. The family will receive friends afterwards from 4:30- 5:30 p.m. at The Journeyman, 129 Oakland Ave., Rock Hill.
