Carl L. Bagley Chester,SC Approx. Date of Death: 08/10/2006 Notice CHESTER – The funeral for Mr. Carl Lee Bagley of 105 Reedy St. will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at Barron Funeral Home. The Rev. Clay Waldrip will officiate and burial will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens. Mr. Bagley, 71, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, at Providence Hospital in Columbia. Born in Chester, he was a son of the late James Robert Bagley and Elizabeth Boyd Bagley. A graduate of Chester High School, Mr. Bagley played in the Shrine Bowl in 1951 and also attended The Citadel. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and was retired from Campus Sportswear. Mr. Bagley also retired as the Chester County transfer station director. A member of First Baptist Church, where he was a sound system operator, a former deacon and a Sunday school teacher, Mr. Bagley was a member and officer of the American Legion. He also belonged to the Civitan Club and Chester Masonic Lodge No. 18 and was a former city police officer. Survivors include his wife, Betty B. Bagley; a son, Jimmy Snead of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Shannon Snead and Chas Snead, both of Rock Hill, and Tiffany Snead of Chester,; a great-granddaughter, Madison Reed of Chester; and a sister, Mary B. Nurdin of Mount Claire, Ill. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Renovation Fund, P.O. Box 518, Chester. Barron Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
