Carl David Rosenbaum, 78, died Sunday, June 25, 2006. Born in Tarboro, to Carl D. and Myrtle Keel Rosenbaum, who have preceded him in death, he attended the Citadel and Wake Forest College after serving in the Army. Mr. Rosenbaum joined North Carolina Natural Gas as a salesman in Tarboro. He then served as manager and district manager in Washington before moving to the general office in Fayetteville. He worked mostly with industrial customers and retired in December 1992 as vice president of industrial sales. Mr. Rosenbaum was active in the Tarboro Jaycees, where he served as president. In Washington, he held several offices, including president of the Kiwanis Club. He served as a volunteer fireman for 25 years in Tarboro and Washington and taught firefighting courses at Beaufort Tech. As a lifelong Episcopalian, he served as junior and senior warden in Tarboro, Washington and St. JohnÆs Episcopal Church in Fayetteville. He also served on the Diocesan Executive Council. He was a member of the Fayetteville Urban Ministry Board for many years. Mr. Rosenbaum is survived by his wife, Betty Rose Wilkerson Rosenbaum; daughters, Nancy R. Meek and her husband, Robert, of Hickory and Betty R. Snyder and her husband, Jack, of Mechanicsville, Va.; a sister, Winifred R. Plunkett of Atlanta; six grandchildren, Robert III, David Meek, Catherine, Elizabeth, Jackson and Eleanor Rose Snyder; sister-in-law, Doris W. Gray and her husband, John, of Tarboro; five nephews; seven great-nieces and nephews; and an aunt, Mary Lib Wynn of Williamston. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2006, in St. JohnÆs Episcopal Church with the Rev. Louann Loch officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Farmville at 3:30 p.m. The family will receive friends tonight, June 27, 2006, from 6 to 8 p.m. at SullivanÆs Highland Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. JohnÆs Building Fund, P.O. Box 722, Fayetteville, NC 28302, or to Fayetteville Urban Ministry, 701 Whitfield St., Fayetteville, NC 28306. Arrangements are being handled by SullivanÆs Highland Funeral Service of Fayetteville.
