OCCUPATION: Sheriff Law Firm, LLC: Charleston, South Carolina, Owner and Founder – 2006-2017. Grew practice from a solo firm to 8 offices, 16 attorneys, and 20 support staff. Cases included civil litigation, criminal law, real estate, business creation and transactions. Charleston School of Law: Charleston, South Carolina, Adjunct Law Professor 2015. Consultant/Business Creation: 2006-Present. Assisted numerous companies while holding positions ranging from board member to consultant: Big John’s Tavern- Revived and brought back local long time Citadel hangout bar and restaurant. Green Energy Biofuels – Helped transform local Citadel alumni owned biofuels company into a large-scale multi-stateorganization. King Street Hospitality Group – Consulted on multiple Citadel owned projects: From award winning restaurants/bars to wedding venues sites. Red Harbor- Consulted and helped grow a local liquor brand to national significance and multiple award-winning competitions through licensing and distribution and cocktail contributions on a growing national scale. Zest Lemon Drop Vodka – Grew local vodka company into a regional top selling brand that is currently in a strong growth mode.
CANDIDATE’S STATEMENT:
My love for our alma mater. Since graduation I have continued involvement both on and off campus, serving on multiple boards, bringing back a beloved hangout, Big Johns Tavern, and now a new Citadel focused brewery.
Why: Because The Citadel changed my life and if there is anything I can do to give back I do and will continue to help in any way I can.
My goal: Bring more engagement internally and externally, have our voices heard on important issues clearly and concisely, continue to strengthen both our school and alumni association, and help support our external alumni connections.
