Donald L Daugherty, of Six Mile, died Dec. 13, 2020. He was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on October 10, 1943 to the late Virgil E. and Anna Mae Bray Daugherty. He retired from Clemson University, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving on Nuclear Submarines. Throughout Mr. Daugherty’s life, he had many hobbies and interests, including golf, the outdoors, working with his tractor, singing, playing guitar, and “tinkering”. He was very proud to have graduated from the Citadel with a degree, despite being an adult that was married with 3 children. Mr. Daugherty was an avid sports fan, but especially loved Clemson Athletics, and was a member of the Six Mile Masonic Lodge, along with Fort Hill Presbyterian Church in Clemson. In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Daugherty is survived by his three daughters: Lisa Rivers (Dwayne) of Greer, Teresa Hechenbleikner (Walter) of Rock Hill, and Sherry Wolfgram (Ryan) of Carlisle, PA; four grandchildren: Justin Rivers (Julianna Gomez) of Greer, Walter P. Hechenbleikner of Rock Hill, Cliff Hechenbleikner of Rock Hill, and Vincent Wolfgram of Howard, Wisconsin; two great-grandchildren: Liana Rivers of Greer and Cyrus Hechenbleikner of Rock Hill; and a brother-in-law: Earl Braun and family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Daugherty was preceded in death by his step-mother and father: Grace and Ed Becker. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, all services for Mr. Daugherty will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Fort Hill Presbyterian Church: 101 Edgewood Ave, Clemson, SC 29631; with memorials being designated to either the Building fund, Pansy Duke Scholarship fund, or the Thornwell Children’s home.
