Orville Oliver Scroggin IV (known by Dub) a resident of Fort Walton Beach, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026 at the age of 76.
Dub was born to Col. Orville O. Scroggin III and Mary Carey Scroggin on July 20, 1948 in Kearney, Nebraska. A military brat, Dub and his family moved around the world enjoying new adventures in life.
He is a graduate of The Citadel Military College of South Carolina where he was a proud member of the Summerall Guards and earned his Bachelor of Science degree. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Systems Science/Scientific as well as a Master of Science in Systems Analysis/Scientific at the University of West Florida.
He loved writing and photography as well as traveling. After serving in the U.S. Army, he taught math at Bruner Middle School before working in defense contracting with the AMRAAM missile systems program before retiring.
Dub is survived by his wife June Rapp Scroggin, children Dionna Feldner, Julie Cooley, Misty Scroggin as well as two step-children, Gregory Brent Oravits, and Lindsay Oravits.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 10, at 2:00 p.m. at Oakland Baptist Church, 118 Wright Parkway, Fort Walton Beach. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Beal Memorial Cemetery, 316 Beal Parkway NW, Fort Walton Beach with military honors.
