Evelyn Bell Cappelmann, 88, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of John D. Cappelmann died Tuesday, July 17, 2018. All services will be private. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Evelyn was born September 15, 1929 in Lexington, North Carolina, daughter of the late Peter Edward Bowers and the late Annie Louise Fritts Bowers. She graduated from the College of Charleston with a bachelor’s degree in English and received a master’s degree in Education from The Citadel. Evelyn worked as a school teacher for many years. She was a member of the Charleston Symphony League, Snee Farm Garden Club and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She is survived by three children, Angela K. Bell (Reedy Hopkins), Marsha B. Tokarczyk (Mike) and Robert S. Bell III (Beth); brother, Robert E. Bowers (Joyce); five step-children, Chip Cappelmann (Betsy), Billy Cappelman (Melanie), Donna Cappelmann, Jan Kaiser (Vince) and Beth Lewis (Scott); six grandchildren, Kelly, Stacey, Holly, Kathryn, Elizabeth and Stephen; eight step-grandchildren, Sean, Harris, Grace, Will, Emily, Vince, Rachel and Joseph; six great-grandchildren and two on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Robert S. Bell, Jr. and a step-grandchild, Amanda.
