David Popofsky, of Port Washington, NY, died Sept. 21, 2004. Born in Brooklyn, NY, February 6, 1934, David was a graduate of the Citadel in 1956 and served in the U.S. Army and was discharged with the rank of Captain. In 1973 David founded Popofsky Advertising Inc. in New York City. Over the years the agency worked on such brands as Robitussin, Dimetapp, Maalox, Bausch and Lomb, Becton Dickenson, Eucalyptamint, Genovese Drug Stores, Pathmark Supermarkets and Charms Candy. David was also a founder of the retail drug institute at the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy as well as serving on its board as a boardmember. Separately he enjoyed a long career as a horse owner and breeder of thoroughbred racehorses that ran under the stable name Bee Pee Stables. In addition he was a longstanding proud member of the New York Friars Club. David is survived by his devoted wife Barbara and his two sons Michael and Scott as well as his two daughters-in-law Theresa and Michelle. David was also blessed with three lovely grandchildren Jordan, Sara, and Isabella. Services Thursday, September 23, 9:30 AM at Riverside-Nassau North Chapels, 55 North Station Plaza (opposite the LIRR), Great Neck, NY.
