Thomas Wilson Grant, Jr., 76, of Greenville, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024.
Born in Columbia, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Thomas and Dorothy Hamilton Grant, Sr.
Thomas attended St. Mary’s Catholic School from 1st until 7th grade and was a proud 1966 graduate of Wade Hampton High School. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from The Citadel, where he excelled in Air Force ROTC and received several leadership and military honors. He demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and was an active member of the Junior Sworddrill Team during his time at The Citadel.
After completing his education, Thomas embarked on a successful career path, working for renowned companies such as Texize and Norwich Pharmaceutical Co., W.B. Doner & Company, Bozell, Inc., and Arby’s Franchise Association where he held various key positions and contributed significantly to the marketing and advertising industry.
In 1995, Thomas established Grant Strategic Marketing, a venture dedicated to developing cutting-edge strategic programs for top U.S. companies and advertising agencies. From 1996 he was the President of Durex London Internation Group, until it later evolved into the Grant Consulting Group, Atlanta, Ga. A testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and innovative thinking.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Thomas found joy in watching sports, playing golf, and was an avid runner, showcasing his passion for an active lifestyle. His unwavering dedication to his work and hobbies made him a well-respected figure in both professional and personal circles.
Thomas will be greatly missed by his sister, Frances Grant-Mack; and his six nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Denis Grant and Patrick Grant.
