Ronald William Jordan, of Charleston, 75, entered into eternal rest on 01/22/2024. Son of the late Joe (JW) and Alberta Thornley Jordan. He graduated from North Charleston High School class of 1966. He also attended Charleston Southern University (Baptist College of Charleston), where he earned a BS in Science, class of 1970. He continued his education, earning his Master’s in Education degree from the Citadel and his Doctorate in Education from Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was a teacher, bus supervisor, and assistant principal at Goose Creek High, he later retired from Berkeley County school district, where he served as a science teacher and assistant principal at Stratford High School. Ron served as a nature lodge and rifle range counselor at Camp Ho-Non-Wah for the Boy Scouts of America during the summer and was a vigil honor recipient of Unali’Yi Lodge in 1976. He is listed in The Who’s Who in America. Ron was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He was elected State President of the Southern Baptist Convention Royal Ambassadors. He served as treasurer, secretary, and president of the North Charleston Junior Chamber of Commerce. He received a JCI Senator award during the JC State Convention. While attending Charleston Southern University, he was a member of Alpha Phi Omega. He served as secretary, treasurer, vice-president, and president of the Alumni Association. Dr. Jordan is a member of the National Association of Science Teachers which is the “leader in life science education”. He is also a member of Phi Delta Kappa which is a professional organization for education. Dr. Jordan is survived by his nephew, John W. Bolton III; his niece, Shawn Marie Toothman (husband, Dan); great-niece, Alexia Toothman and great-nephew, Daniel Toothman. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Ann Bolton.
